LUMBER
Lumber is the backbone of a building project. When choosing a type of lumber, it is important to consider the strength and durability to ensure it aligns with the requirements of the job. At Brudenell Building Centre, we also believe it is important to appreciate the beauty of the product, ensuring you are happy with the final look. Each wood has its own distinct grain, colour and purpose. We stock a wide variety of lumber products ranging in sizes and species.
Softwood
Softwood comes from evergreen and conifer trees including pine, spruce, cedar, fir, larch, and Douglas fir (among others). It is best used for woodware, building homes, cottages and furniture. The product is strong in tension but weak in shear.
Hardwood
Hardwood comes from deciduous trees including mahogany, teak, walnut, oak, ash, elm, aspen, poplar, birch and maple (among others). It is best used for construction, furniture, flooring and decks. The product has natural weather resistance and is strong in compression, tension and shear.
Pressure Treated Lumber
Pressure treated lumber is an excellent choice for outdoor projects. Pressure-treating the wood provides protection against the elements, including insect infestation and decay damage. It is strong, cost-effective and visually appealing.

To meet the needs of your next home build or project, we have a large selection of plywood on site and ready for your job.
